CrossFit Level 1 Certification
I grew up in Simsbury, CT on the baseball field before making the change to the pool. Swimming ended up being a great outlet for me and gave me the opportunity to compete for 4 years as a Union College Dutchman. While at Union, I received a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Since then, I have received my MBA and currently work in management for Otis Elevator Company. I currently reside in South Windsor with my fiancé, Aubrie, and lab mix, Al.
I started Crossfit in 2016 after getting bored of the same routine at a regular gym. From day one, I knew that the change was a great choice. A couple of weeks in, not only was my overall fitness improving, so was my diet. Being around others that have a healthy lifestyle is contagious and I have seen tremendous results CrossFit also gave me an arena to be able to compete again, something I hadn't done since swimming in college. There was always someone there to push me past my limits and challenge me to grow as an athlete.
The biggest takeaway from Crossfit is the community - everyone has a common interest in bettering each other. Every single athlete, no matter their age, fitness level, or experience, wanted to see the person next to them reach their goals and get better. In 2017, I decided to pursue my L1 Certification to further contribute to that environment. It is exciting to see what people are unknowingly capable of and reach new milestones.
